Rah-Madanyat; Standing for Truth in Exile

Roots and Heritage

Rah-Madanyat Daily (RMD) is an independent, free, and non-affiliated media organization founded in 2011 in Kabul by Sayed Asghar Eshraq. Operating under the core motto of “Achieving Citizenship Rights,” RMD served for over a decade in the heart of Afghanistan as a critical, progressive voice and a watchdog for democratic values and human rights. Throughout years of professional activity, we established ourselves as the “awakened conscience” of civil society, maintaining strict independence from any political currents, parties, or groups.

Transition to a New Chapter: Agile Journalism in Exile

Following the events of August 2021 and the suppression of freedom of expression in Afghanistan, Rah-Madanyat remained faithful to its ideals and moved its operations beyond borders. We are now continuing our mission digitally from Germany. In this new chapter, Rah-Madanyat has moved past complex and costly administrative structures to adopt an “Agile and Voluntary Journalism” model. Today, we are a team of dedicated and expert journalists who, despite being away from our homeland, remain committed to our mission of informing the public through individual expertise and willpower. This structural independence allows us to speak without hesitation and remain accountable only to the truth and our audience, free from the influence of political powers.

Values and Achievements

  • Commitment to Women’s Rights: Since its inception, Rah-Madanyat has prioritized gender equality. Notable projects such as “From Hidden Struggles to Political Participation” and New political visions of Afghanistan“Youth, Leadership, and Development,” supported by international foundations, are part of our legacy in empowering women.
  • Global Standards: In 2016, our exclusive editorial cartoon titled No Corruption!” won 4th place in the United Nations’ global political cartoon competition; an achievement that proved the professional caliber of our editorial team on an international level.

Our Vision

We envision an Afghanistan where every individual, regardless of gender, identity, ethnicity, or belief, enjoys the right to freedom of expression and a dignified life. Rah-Madanyat strives to be a bridge between the truth and a generation striving for a brighter future.

Our Outlook: Beyond Information

We view “Rah-Madanyat” not merely as a news website, but as an “Enlightenment Institution and a Guardian of Historical Memory.” Our vision for the future is built on four main pillars:

  1. A Primary Reference for Investigative Journalism in Exile: We strive to become the most reliable source for uncovering hidden truths and documenting human rights violations in Afghanistan.
  2. A Platform for Elite Convergence: We aim to transform Rah-Madanyat’s digital space into a forum for intergenerational dialogue and a think tank for mapping the return to civil and democratic values.
  3. Technology in Service of Truth: By utilizing modern media tools and digital security, we aim to break the walls of censorship and deliver content to the furthest corners of Afghanistan and the global diaspora.
  4. The Principle of Self-Sufficiency: We seek to create a sustainable and self-reliant media structure. By leveraging digital platforms and social media, we aim for independent revenue models to ensure our editorial independence remains guaranteed.

Transparency and Financial Support

Rah-Madanyat does not rely on any government or political funding. To maintain our absolute independence, we rely on public support and voluntary efforts. All contributions are collected in a dedicated account and are used exclusively for:

  • Maintaining and upgrading digital infrastructure and website security.
  • Covering essential costs for journalists and contributors working under difficult conditions.
  • Combating censorship and documenting human rights violations.Your support is not merely a contribution to a media outlet; it is an investment in the survival of ‘Freedom of Expression’ and a  commitment to ‘Independent Journalism’: Support Rah-e Madanyat Daily via Paypal.
